Dream On was released in 1982 on the Epic record label. The album reached number 17 in the Billboard R&B Album Charts, number 48 in the Billboard 200 chart and number 9 in the Jazz Albums chart. The tracks Ride On Love and Shine On were released as singles and reached number 83 and number 15 respectively in the Billboard R&B Singles Chart.
